4. When were the company established, and its size and success?

The Edge Educational & Placement Services (P) Ltd. is registered with Registrar of Company, Hyderabad, India. The history of the company is as old as 5 years. Edge Educational & Placement Services is born out of merger of two different ventures: Edge Educational Services, and Employment Edge. In Feb – 2007, these two ventures has been merged into a Pvt. Ltd.  Company, and hence given the new name Edge Educational & Placement Services (P) Ltd. Campus-india was started as sister venture of Edge Educational Services in the year – 2005. Campus-India history is 2 years old. After merger, campus-india is now the subsidiary of Edge Educational & Placement Services (P) Ltd.

7. Is campus-India similar to job fair? We already have tie-ups with some of the companies that organize job fair, then why should we enroll with campus-India?

No, The concept of campus-India is entirely different from that of the job fair though it looks similar at first instance. Following are some of the major differences between job fair and the campus-India program:

  • Pre-enrollment: In job fair, candidates are enrolled on the spot, whereas in case of campus-India, candidates are enrolled beforehand. Currently more than 15,000 candidates from 250 different colleges in India are enrolled with campus-india. The enrollments are still in the process to cover entire India in coming few months.
  • Campus-India is only for fresh candidates: Job fair is for all kinds of jobs, whereas campus-India is only for hiring fresher.
  • Campus-India is specialist, not generalist: Job fair is very generic, but campus-india program is very particular to suit to your specific requirements.
  • Facilities provided by our company: In job fair, companies participating needs to bear all the expenses like: traveling & boarding expenses, whereas in case of campus-india, all the expenditures related to boarding and traveling of your executives will be born by campus-India.
  • Cost incurred even if you don’t hire anyone: In job fair, You will be charged even if you won’t get deserving candidates. You would be charged only for putting up your stall. Whereas, campus-India charges only when your company hires from us. Campus-India doesn’t charge for participating in the events, or enrolling with Campus-India program.
  • Impression of job fair: The impression of job fair among students has gone down like anything in the past few years. Many good and deserving candidates avoid attending the job fair because of the rush and hassle, whereas, campus-India has a very good reputation among the candidates.
  • Exception can’t be an example: Sometimes, you may get some good and deserving candidates from job fair, but these are exceptions, and exception can’t be example. In the case of campus-India, it is opposite, it is very unusual not to find a single deserving candidate out of 3000 to 5000 who will come to attend campus placement events.
  • Many companies the same day: In job fair, there would be many companies participating in the events in a day. Whereas, in campus-India, we make a proper schedule, and try to avoid the multiple companies the same day. Therefore, it will hassle free for the companies participating in campus-India.
  • Venue and time according to your convenience:  in job fair many companies participate, and the venue and timing may not be decided by taking in to account your convenience. It’s not possible to match the perfect timing for 50 companies participating in a job fair. Whereas, in campus-India, we give much importance to your convenience. The timing and venue is decided only after consulting your company.
  • No pre-estimate/Guarantee of total number of candidates in a job fair: In job fair, a consulting company organizes an events and calls different companies at the venues. They usually don’t have candidates enrolled before hand, therefore; they can’t guarantee about the number of candidates visiting the job fair. In case of campus-india program, we promise you to arrange 3000 to 5000 candidates in a day as the candidates are already enrolled with us.

8. What are the colleges which are participating in the campus-India program?

Campus-India has established relationships with more than 200 IT & Non IT colleges, and more than 50 MBA Institutions and colleges across India. Campus-India is capable of gathering more than 5,000 candidates at any point of time at any location in India with in a small span of 72 hours. We have students enrolled with us from more than 250 colleges from different parts of the country, and the enrollment process is still in the process to cover entire India in coming few months. Campus-India is a one-stop shop for the corporate hiring for fresher.

9. Is the campus-India program only for fresher?

Yes, Campus-India program is only for hiring fresh candidates. We have different program for hiring experienced people.

10. We require experienced candidates. How will your company help us recruiting candidates with work experience?

There is another division of Edge Educational & Placement Services – consultancy edge (http://www.consultancyedge.com) which deals in experience candidates hiring. You need to register with us, and our executive will contact you for the same. This is a one-stop shop for all your hiring needs.

11. What do we need to do if we want to hire fresh candidates from campus-India program? Can you tell me about the details of the process?

The process is pretty simple. The following steps will be followed:

1. Enrollment with campus-India: The process starts with your enrollment with campus-India. You need to send a mail from your company ID to: register@campus-india.com, and our executive will contact you immediately. Then a proposal will be signed between campus-India and your company for hiring through campus-India. The registration process will be over after we sign a proposal. After registration, you will be provided with a login and password on campus-India website. You can post your requirement any time on Campus-India Website. Registration with campus-India is free.

2. Communicating requirements: If your company is registered with campus-India, you can send the requirements any time. You can communicate your requirements to us by any of the three methods:

  1. You can call our offices and give the requirement details. Our executive will be in touch with you to understand your requirements.
  2. You can post the requirements on campus-india.com website through your campus-India login. (The companies which are enrolled with campus-India are provided with login and password on campus-india.com).
  3. You can send a mail to openings@campus-india.com with details of the openings, like eligibility, work profile and total number of openings, and the time before you need to close the openings etc. Our executive will contact you through telephone.  Your mail will be acknowledged the same day.

3. Recruitment test and interview: Campus-India will inform all the enrolled candidates to appear for the written test and interview with in the 4 days of receiving the details of the openings. The venue and date will also be communicated to you. Your convenience will be given more importance while deciding about the venue and the date of placement events. Campus-India will make sure to arrange ample students from different colleges for the written test. The executive from your company will also be invited to take final interview for the candidates who will qualify written test. If for some unavoidable reasons, the executive from your company couldn’t be able to make it to the venue of placement events, campus-India will arrange telephonic interview for the candidates selected in the written test. Our local offices will co-ordinate all the events. Campus-India will bear all the expenses incurred in organizing the placement events and also the traveling and boarding expenses of the executives of your company who will come for campus-Interview.

4. Joining of new candidates: After successful recruitment, the offer letters should be sent to the campus-India office. This will be distributed to the candidates from campus-India office.

5. Feedback: At the end, we not just want to see you happy rather we want to see you delighted. Your feedback would be the most important for us. We take your feedback as seriously as we take our business. Campus-India will try to implement all your suggestions with in its capacity.

12. Our company already has tie-up with colleges, therefore; we can go to colleges and recruit candidates directly from the college. Then why should I recruit from campus-India?

Some of the important reasons are below:

  1. Volume of students: If you visit single college, you will get only the students from that college, whereas, in campus-india program, students from many colleges are enrolled. You will get volume of students to choose from.
  2. Fast execution of hiring process: You need to give us the requirements, you can leave everything to us and we will look after each and every thing. Hence, your company doesn’t have to waste time in recruitments. The process of execution will be faster than you expect.
  3. Immediate requirements: If your organization has immediate requirements, and the candidates selected are required to join with in a month time from placement dates, then your requirements will not be met by visiting campus. This is because the candidates recruited through campus placements will join only after passing out from the college. Where as campus-India will provide you candidates who have passed out from the college, and are ready to join immediately.
  4. Less overhead: All the events will be coordinated by campus-india team and our local office. We have offices across India to co-ordinate the events. This will reduce the overhead.
  5. Quality students: If you visit single colleges, you may not be able to get quality students. The time will be wasted in visiting different colleges.  Whereas, in campus-India, we promise your to provide volume of students, and hence you can find out the quality students from them.
  6. Single visit and your job is done: If you require more candidates, then visiting a single colleges may no fulfill your requirements. You need to visit some other college again, which will consume more time and efforts which is unnecessary overhead for your company. Whereas, if you recruit from campus-India, you don’t have to go to any other college again. In a single visit itself you can fulfill all your requirements because students from many colleges are joined with campus-india program. 14. When will the candidates recruited from campus-India join?

The candidates hired through campus-India program will join after April – 2008 (after passing out from the college). If the candidates are recruited after April, they will join immediately.

15. Does campus-India charge money from candidates for placing them?

No, campus-India doesn’t charge any money from candidates. We are a values based company with our own value systems. Our value doesn’t allow us to charge money from candidates. Moreover this also helps us in attracting better candidates.

16. Our company has no current requirements for fresher, but in future we want to recruit fresh candidates. How can campus-India help us?

You can enroll with campus-India for free. After enrollment, you will be provided with the login and password on campus-India website. When the requirements will arise in your organization, you can communicate the same to us, and we will fulfill it with in 7 working days. You can communicate your requirements by sending mails, contacting any of our offices, or posting the same on campus-India website from your login on campus-India.

17. What do you mean by fresher?

Fresher are the candidates which have just passed out from the college. The candidates with 0 to 1 years of work experience are generally considered fresher.

18. What do you mean by Educational domain knowledge? How does it help you in HR consultancy?

Our Company (Edge Educational & Placement Services) also deals in educational consultancy. We keep ourselves up-to-date with the current trends in education. It also helps us to figure out the TOP colleges irrespective of media hype. It also helps us in finding out the relevant talent pool in India best suited for your requirements because we are the people who work as a bridge between corporate sectors and educational institutions.

19. What are the charges of campus India?
 
Our charges are least in the industry. Moreover it’s a promotional offer for the companies participating in campus-India. 
For the first three years, campus-India will work on no profit margin. Enrollment with campus-India is free. 
We charge only when you recruit from campus-India.
 We charge 4% of the annual salary of the candidates hired through campus-India program. 
For work-Ex candidates which are hired through lateral hiring process (and not through campus-india program), 
we charge 8.33% of the annual salary of the candidate hired.
